A FICTION SERIES SET IN THE REAL HOSPITAL REAL, WHERE THE HOTEL HOSTAL DE LOS REYES CATÓLICOS IS LOCATED TODAY.

What is now a luxury hotel was once one of Spain’s main hospitals. “Hospital Real” is set in the late 18th century, in a historical context shaken by an economic crisis and the arrival of liberal ideas from the French Revolution. Olalla, a young peasant girl, rescues a wounded man by the side of a road. He turns out to be Daniel, the future surgeon of the Hospital and the son of an important nobleman in the city. During the time Daniel spends at her home, recovering from his wounds, the two young people fall irreversibly in love, and Olalla decides to go with him to Santiago with the dream of becoming a nurse at the Royal Hospital. From there, a series of murders, a forced engagement, Daniel’s father’s shady dealings, and political and economic conflicts will cause Olalla and Daniel’s paths to diverge. A story with the perfect combination of love, mystery, and melodrama in which medicine and the history of the time play a fundamental role.
